Treasure Hunt Liquidators will open a second store

Raleigh’s Treasure Hunt Liquidators – a discount store selling high-end products for $10 or less – will soon open a second location to meet growing demand.

Treasure Hunt opened its 10,000 square foot flagship store at 4522 Capital Boulevard about 14 months ago. The sprawling space features dozens of waist-high receptacles stacked with popular products like branded AirPods, drones, vacuum cleaners, computer parts, 3D printers and designer clothes.

The store offers deep discounts to its customers by buying liquidated inventory in bulk. Big boxes from Amazon, Target, Walmart and other stores arrive weekly with a mix of content.

“We get these amazing deals because he’s never sure what might happen,” George Milano, owner of Treasure Hunt, said in an interview. “But there are thefts to be found if people are looking for them.”

Lines of eager shoppers outside Treasure Hunt’s Raleigh store occasionally turned the block.

Such demand prompted Milan to look for a second location.

“We felt like the space we were in had to be a little bigger for the operation that we really wanted, to really reach our full potential,” he said. “There have been several programs and truckloads that I can’t bring into this Raleigh site simply because of our size.”

The new store, an hour’s drive east of downtown Raleigh at 1318 West Grantham Street in Goldsboro, is approximately 30,000 square feet. Interior construction is nearly complete, Milano said, and a grand opening is scheduled for April 15.

“We’re going to go all out with lots of free food and music and some really cool giveaways,” Milano said. “I thought maybe we were going to give away a TV, a bunch of kitchen products, Instant Pots, air fryers and an iPad.”

Goldsboro’s treasure hunt will feature a similar pricing model to Raleigh’s. The store will unveil new shipments every Friday. Any products shoppers find in a bin will only cost $10. As stocks decrease over the following days, prices will fall.

“We’re going to pay attention to the community and continue to do good business,” Milano said. “They’re going to love this.”
