The Sprouts Farmers Market supermarket chain, known for its affordable produce, is set to open a location in Rancho Cordova on Nov. 11.
The chain currently has 10 locations in the Sacramento area. The new location at 10846 Bear Hollow Dr. will open at 7 a.m. Nov. 11 and will compete with a variety of other supermarkets and specialty food stores in a crowded and competitive food market.
Sprouts is a full-service supermarket, but emphasizes its products by placing them at the center of the store. The company relies on high sales volumes of fruits and vegetables to offer prices that often beat competitors such as Whole Foods.
Openness also creates jobs
The opening of Sprouts also means more The store is recruiting 100 full-time and part-time employees. A career fair will be held October 4 and 5 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Doubletree Sacramento Hotel located at 2001 Point West Way.
The store is looking for department managers, assistant department managers, courtesy clerks, cashiers and an administrative coordinator.
The company did not disclose the pay rate in the press release and a Sprouts spokesperson was not immediately available for additional details.
Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market has 128 stores in California, more than double the number of locations in any other state.
